Where to buy Flexform in the USA
Flexform sells through dealers. The factory in Meda does not take retail orders and does not ship to private addresses in the United States, so buying one of its outdoor sofas means going through someone like us.
What a dealer does
- Configures the orderA sectional is a list of elements, not a product code. Getting that list right is most of the work.
- Checks the finish is liveFabric ranges and frame finishes change season to season. A discontinued colour turns into a delay.
- Books the production slotBuilt to order in Meda. The slot is what fixes the date, and it is booked when the order is confirmed.
- Handles import and deliverySea freight, customs clearance, and a truck at this end. Access at the address decides what that last leg costs.
Buying from abroad
People do ask whether it is cheaper to buy in Italy and ship it themselves. For one small piece it sometimes is. For a sofa it usually is not, once crating, freight, customs brokerage, duty and a residential delivery are all paid for separately rather than as one consignment.
There is also the warranty question. A piece bought through an Italian retailer and imported privately is serviced from Italy, which for an upholstered sofa means shipping it back. Ask us and we will say which way round makes sense for what you want.
